Somewhere between a corset, bodysuit, and Spanx, basque lingerie swoops down over your hips, making a smooth line. Basques come in lacy or solid, see-through or satin. And, many have suspenders, so pull out your favorite stockings and heels and get ready to make an impression. One of the most famous styles is the Merry Widow, a 1950s number that was an everyday affair back then. Nowadays, basque lingerie isn’t as common, but we say, bring it back. It’s a versatile choice, and it’s super sexy. Read on to find out where to buy basque lingerie for every occasion and style.
Bluebella
If you don’t know about them already, UK-based Bluebella is about to be one of your favorites. This. Brand. Is. Hot. Lots of mesh, lace, straps, and unexpected, unforgettable design here. They have a rotating collection of basque lingerie and even an outlet, so make this one of your first stops. Prices start at $50 and go up from there, and you probably won’t be able to leave their site for a while. If you start getting into their strappy panties and slinky bodysuits, you’ll be finished.
Studio Pia
Here’s another UK-based brand that’s just, *chef’s kiss.* The only word for it is exquisite, especially when it comes to their basque lingerie. Studio Pia serves up a range of styles. They’ve got you covered, whether you want a strappy, barely-there number for a night out, or a gorgeously embroidered, full-coverage option to provide shape and interest under a dress. Prepare to spend, though. Prices run north of $600. If that works for your budget, head there now and grab one.
Avec Amour
Avec Amour isn’t a brand — it’s a boutique. They’ve collected and curated the best pieces from labels such as Stella McCartney, Eberjey, and Heidi Klum Intimates, and you’ll even find Bluebella there. When we looked, most of the basque lingerie on this site was from Bluebella, but you’re sure to discover quite a few other treasures. Styles run the gamut from lacy and sweet to bold and revealing. Enjoy!
Bettie Page
For a vintage-inspired look, scoot over Bettie Page, a retro clothing shop with a full lingerie collection. When we looked, they only had one basque (and a few pieces that were almost there), but this is where to go for head-to-high-heeled vintage lingerie.
Alone Together Shop
Etsy has some incredible lingerie shops, which we’ve already curated for you here. Alone Together delivers on the basque lingerie front, though. From lacy shapewear to strappy seduction, there’s a basque for everyone here. Based in Scotland, this brand has a five-star rating and offers a gift with purchases over $75. Oh, and if you follow them on Instagram, you’ll get 10% off.
Nasty Gal
Oh, Nasty Gal. Is there anything you don’t have? Nasty Gal was founded back in the early 2000s by Sophia Amoruso, of Girlboss fame. Netflix even created a series based on her startup days. In addition to everything else they carry, Nasty Gal has a solid little collection of basque lingerie. And, since they constantly have sales, you can probably get one for under $20.
Rigby & Peller
Discovering this London-based shop was the highlight of our day here at Fox Lingerie. Everything we’ve seen is well-crafted, gorgeous, and understated while still managing to be sexy as hell. Though they only had a few pieces of basque lingerie at the time of publishing, we expect that this will continue to be a solid source. Brands include PrimaDonna, Marie Jo, and Andres Sarda, and they carry a range of cup sizes, from A-J.
LaSenza
La Senza calls itself “the global destination for the hottest lingerie at an incredible value,” and we think they might be right. They’ve got every style you can imagine. When we scoped it, the basque lingerie collection was kind of basic, but we imagine it won’t always be that way, as they have a category devoted to merry widows, that famous 1950s-style basque we mentioned up top.
What Katie Did
What Katie Did is a vintage, UK-based lingerie boutique that’s been around since 1999, making it truly the first of its kind. Now carried by more than 100 stockists, with shops in Los Angeles and London, it’s kind of a thing. (Side note: If you’ve always wanted a bullet bra, this is the place for you.) You can learn all about basque lingerie in this in-depth blog, and be sure to get after their basque lingerie collection.
Sparkling Strawberry
Here you’ll find one of the most extensive basque lingerie collections we’ve seen. UK-based Sparkling Strawberry is a one-stop shop for costumes, clubwear, and lingerie, and they have a plus-size collection too. They claim that whatever your fantasy is, they can help you fulfill it. You might want to let them try.
Bordelle
Are all the sexy basques in the UK? Seems like it! Bordelle might just be your new favorite treat. With a flavor that’s somewhere between lacy and bondage, these structured basque beauties will make a statement, whether you’re keeping them hidden under your clothes or wearing them solo. Just get ready to drop some cash.
Aubade Paris
Do yourself a favor and put this brand on your go-to list. Here, you’ll find simply stunning, seductive pieces. Aubade Paris has been around since 1958, but before it was a brand, it was a person, Doctor Bernard, who was a corsetier. They know their basque lingerie — the couple we found were divine.
The Rack Shack
We have to tell you about this inclusive lingerie boutique based in Brooklyn, New York. Their basque lingerie category was empty when we checked, but they do have one. And, after scouring the internet to bring you the best basque lingerie, we can say with confidence that that’s a rare thing! They have plenty of sizes, too. Bras come in 28A-44O US and UK 44K, and lingerie comes in sizes XS-4X. We’re drooling over everything on this site, so put this brand on your list right now!
Conclusion
That’s it from planet basque, babe! All the basque lingerie the internet has to offer. Well, except from sex toy shops, so be sure to check your faves. Corsets and basques abound there, too — they’re just not as consistently elevated. Hit us up if you need more guidance. We’re always here to help you find the perfect piece of basque lingerie to add to your collection.
